In the last weeks, the health emergency has forced many companies to adopt smart working. If at the beginning of the emergency most of the employers said they were reluctant to use smart work, a tool that has so far been little used in our country, over time smart work has proven to be an efficient way, capable of increasing productivity.

In fact, if supported by discipline and adequate management of tools, smart working can prove surprisingly useful, allowing employees to be more efficient, productive and focused. In fact, smart work is not only linked to technology, the ability to organize oneself, both personally and at company level, is also fundamental.

However, the use of technological devices is indispensable: without there could be no remote work. For this reason, companies had to equip themselves with the necessary tools to allow employees to work from home, giving jobs the possibility of accessing company data via their mobile devices. More and more workers are using their smartphone to work. This can represent a victory for companies, which see the efficiency of their employees gradually increase, aided by the devices they know perfectly. At the same time, it opens a new backdoor for accessing sensitive corporate data, increasing the risk of infringement.

For this reason, securing even the devices of its employees is no longer optional. Now more than ever, protecting corporate information is critical to avoiding external attacks; just think that in 2018 the attacks on mobile devices almost doubled compared to the previous year, reaching 116.5 million. If we add to this that since 2018, with the entry into force of the European GDPR regulation, companies are responsible for the violation of employees’ personal information, the importance of protection is obvious.

So if you haven’t done it yet, run for cover immediately. Ask your companies to have a mechanism capable of ensuring data security on all devices, wherever they are accessed. Defense is no longer an option.
