Italian GT Endurance Championship
Manuel Menichini, 30 July 1986 Milan Italy.
At his first Endurance race in Pergusa he recorded the second fastest time in qualifying, finishing the race in second place despite the front tire puncture suffered by teammate Risitano on the third lap.
At the second round at the Mugello circuit he again recorded the second time in qualifying while in the race he led Ferrari in his stint in first position, handing the car over to his teammate with a 45 second advantage, who then finished in second position .
Due to unforeseen changes in the third round at the Vallelunga circuit, the crew was reduced to 2 drivers and it was decided to race in Team Italia aboard the Lamborghini Huracan Evo 1.
The 2 drivers don’t know the car and the circuit but they still manage to conquer the second position in qualifying with a view to the race which saw the possible victory.
Unfortunately a GT3 car hit his team mate damaging the car and thus preventing him from competing in the race.
This incident prevents the driver involved from finishing the 2022 season.
At the Monza racetrack for the fourth round, the SR&R Team offers him the seat together with its top crew Samuele Buttarelli and Lorenzo Cossu, then Italian GT Endurance AM champions.
Manuel in the home race conquers the first place in qualifying and manages to conquer his first victory of the season.
