Coronavirus has dramatic effects for a lot of italian companies. Many organizations have been forced to use layoffs to resist the crisis. This situation has serious repercussions on all workers: at every level, employees see their wages reduced considerably.
On the basis of the INPS updates, the application for layoffs and ordinary check for 7.3 million beneficiaries was sent on 24 April. What does this mean in terms of paychecks? To answer is an analysis developed by the Foundation for Labor Consultants Studies, on the basis of Istat data. According to the study, this huge audience of workers will lack € 3.476 billion a month. Therefore, each worker will lose an average of 472 euros per month, with a reduction in wages of 36%.
The higher the salary, the greater the loss: from 25% for unqualified professions to 45% for highly specialized scientific professions. In detail:
- Construction workers will suffer a 32.1% reduction in salary, with 419 euros less on the paycheck.
- The clerical employees will see the salary reduced by 32.1%, with 393 euros less on the paycheck.
- Assembly workers will suffer a 31.8% reduction, with 421 euros less at the end of the month.
- The sales staff will have their wages cut by 26.8%, with 285 euros less.
- Catering workers will experience a drop of 25.8%, with 244 euros less on the final salary.
- Textile and clothing workers will experience a reduction of 22.6%, with 286 euros less.
- Aesthetic care workers will suffer less, with a reduction of 22.6%, equal to 186 euros less on the monthly salary.
If so far the situation seemed complicated, data gives a dramatic picture.
